'Where's the time gone?' - Macclesfield beauty salon approaches 20th birthday

A beauticians is celebrating two decades in business.
Simply Bliss, on Mill Street, turns 20-years-old later this month.
Owner Sarah Thompson admits she never expected the salon would grow into the success it has become.
"I've never really thought too far ahead," she said.
"You just have to take it week by week.
"You see your business grow and before you know it, you're 20 years down the line.
"Blimey, where's the time gone?"
She added: "I feel so proud that we've got to 20 years. It's a massive achievement!
"I'm lucky to have such a good team and I'm very grateful for all of our clients, without them we wouldn't have a business."

Sarah was just 20-year-old when she launched Simply Bliss.
She had already started to build up a clientele but upon finding out her employer was planning to fold she decided to 'take the bull by the horns' and go solo.
"I was still living at home with no commitments, everything was possible," she said.
2020 proved to be a major turning point for Simply Bliss, but not for the reason you might expect.
The business moved from Duke's Court to a prominent position on Mill Street, taking over the unit of BE: Hairdressing, which closed just before Covid hit.
"It was very scary," Sarah admitted.
"I didn't know whether I had enough business to open a full shop.
"But I took the risk, and it has massively paid off."
Sarah says the end lockdown restrictions resulted in a huge boom for trade.
"People had been locked away, not able to spend the money on self-care," she said.
"They came back with a vengeance.
"Everyone has realised how important self-care is. Beauty treatments are no longer seen a luxury, it's just part of the routine.
"The past five years have been where we've really gone from strength to strength."

Simply Bliss turns 20-years-old on April 23.
To celebrate, the team are planning to put up decorations, make non-alcoholic cocktails and cupcakes, and host a 'how well do you know Simply Bliss' quiz for the longstanding clients.
Asked what the future has in store, Sarah said: "It's a very fast-moving industry so it's all about keeping up-to-date with the latest treatments and technologies.
"The main thing for me is to continue growing the business.
"I've always wanted a second salon. I live in Poynton now so it would be nice to have one closer to home!"
