This award hasn't been the only cause for celebration at Macclesfield College.

Students have been taking part in the Cheshire and Warrington Skills Competition.

Now in its third year, the competition unites students from Cheshire College – South & West, Reaseheath College, Warrington Vale Royal College, and Macclesfield College.

Hosted over multiple weeks and divided into various categories, the event provides students with the opportunity to showcase their skills in line with industry benchmarks and employer expectations.

Rachel Kay, CEO and principal, said: "We are incredibly proud of our students for their fantastic achievements in the Cheshire and Warrington Skills Competition.

"Taking part in these events is a brilliant opportunity for students to challenge themselves, refine their skills and build confidence for their future careers.

"It's wonderful to see their hard work and dedication recognised and we congratulate all those who took part."
