A Macclesfield business has made the difficult decision to not reopen.

Sandwich shop Katy's Kitchen, which opened last year on High Street, revealed the news on Facebook on Tuesday.

The business wrote on Facebook: "It is with a heavy heart that I write this post.

"Unfortunately, Katy's Kitchen will not be reopening."

The business cited a variety of undisclosed reasons, and acknowledged the decision has not "been an easy one."

The family business, was operated by Macclesfield residents Katy McNally and mother Heather.

"I would just like to thank each and every one of my customers over the last ten months," said Katy's Kitchen.

"I do have a few ideas in the pipeline, so keep your eyes peeled for what will happen next.

"Thank you and good night."

The Macclesfield community has left messages of support on their Facebook.
