Bronze medal at international competition for Macclesfield dancer
A Macclesfield woman has come third in an international tournament.
Teenager Jessica Christley came third at the World Freestyle Dance Championships at Winter Gardens in Blackpool last Saturday.
The 18-year-old competed representing Dance Addicts Macclesfield, a dance school which practices at Christ The King Catholic School, Fir Grove, Macclesfield.
Allan Lowden, principal at Dance Addicts Macclesfield couldn't be prouder.
"This is an amazing achievement, for our senior dancer Jessica Christley, dancing competitively for the final time before she goes to university this September to study criminology.
"She has been studying dance with us since age seven, and has became a valued student teacher, as well as dancer.
"Well done!"
Jessica competed with 100 other dancers in her age group, and 30 in her category (Under 18S).
Another Macclesfield finalist, Olivia May (12) did Dance Addicts Macclesfield proud at the tournament in the Under 14 category.
Dancers from Ireland, Scotland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden were amongst the other countries competing.
Allan, who has 25 years experience as a dancer himself, and is a continental champ, added: "Big thank you to the parents, as there is lots of dedication that needs to go into performing at this level.
"And of course, thank you to the students too. They work so hard.
"Achievements like this make it all worthwhile.
"Thank you for all of your support."
