Nurses and carers faced off in a charity football match.

The Leasing.com Stadium hosted the annual Kick4Charity earlier this month, helping to generate over £1,500 for East Cheshire NHS Charity.

As well as raising vital funds, the event brought together local care professionals, NHS staff, and families, with more than 100 spectators cheering from the sidelines.

The main event saw a team of nurses from Macclesfield District General Hospital go head-to-head with Carefound Home Care Wilmslow, the former securing bragging rights with a 4-2 win.

Rebecca Ward, AICC matron for East Cheshire NHS Trust, said: "A huge thank you to everyone who took part, supported, and donated.

"While the East Cheshire team was thrilled to secure a 4-2 win, the real highlight was the incredible atmosphere. The teamwork, camaraderie, and community support both on and off the pitch were wonderful to see.

"A special thank you goes to Carefound for hosting us, to our referee Pete for giving up his time, and to everyone who has donated. Raising over £1,500 is an amazing achievement!"

The funds raised will go directly toward supporting patients, families, and colleagues across East Cheshire NHS Trust.

Lily Preston, fundraising and events manager at East Cheshire NHS Charity, said: "We are so grateful to Carefound Home Care for organising such a brilliant event and for their continued support.

"It was fantastic to see care professionals and NHS staff unite on the pitch to raise such an incredible amount for our local NHS."

Sarah Vickers, recruitment and community manager at Carefound, added: "It was a fantastic day filled with fun, teamwork, and community spirit,"

"While the nurses may have claimed victory this time, our Care Professionals are already fired up and determined to bring the trophy home next year!"
