It is the first pub visitors see when exiting our train station, and now Macclesfield's leading music-themed pub has a football team.

Nags Head F.C. has been formed as Macclesfield's newest and most exciting amateur football club.

Born out of a desire to offer the residents of the Silk Town even more opportunity to play competitive football, we are here to make the town proud through offering an inclusive environment where all are welcome to come and train, learn, play, and win.

We are currently in the process of formally registering as a club, with a view to beginning playing competitive football in the 2022/23 season. In the meantime, we are already holding trials for new players on Wednesday nights and are all set to play our first matches over the next few weeks and months.

Whether you want to start out your amateur footballing career, want a new club or just something to do, we would encourage potential players to get involved and come join us!

We are also looking for potential sponsors in the local Macclesfield community and invite expressions of interest at [email protected] and we will get back to you soon!

James Barber, Chairman of Nags Head F.C., said: "We're all really excited to be launching Macclesfield's newest football team, and thank the Nags Head Pub for allowing us to represent them.

"We've now got just less than a year to get ready for our first competitive season and I'm really confident we will be a force to be reckoned with!"

Nags Head FC will play their games on Saturdays.
