The trailer has been released for the Macclesfield FC BBC documentary, which will be available to stream from Friday.

Our town's football club is set to receive national exposure, as the hour-long documentary can be watched from this weekend.

Robbie Savage: Making Macclesfield FC is produced by BBC Sport, and released a trailer earlier this morning.

The promotional clip for The Silkmen doc is one minute and 33 seconds long.

It features Macclesfield's manager Danny Whitaker, match day announcer Andy Worth, and two Rob's.

Director of Football Robbie Savage recalled how he told Robert Smethurst "Are you for real", when he found out Mr Smethurst had bought the beleagured club.

The ex-professional footballer who lives in Prestbury also said in the teaser: "People have a perception of me."

"Macclesfield Town has gone from a football club which went bankrupt, to people saying Macclesfield FC is all about the money, which is completely untrue."

"This is the hardest thing I've ever done".

Can you spot yourself in the new trailer? While we can't put the trailer in this article for copyright reasons, we have linked it below.

BBC Sport said: "Watch the trailer for BBC Sport's new documentary, Robbie Savage: Making Macclesfield FC, which follows the former Premier League player and pundit as he teams up with local businessman Robert Smethurst to establish Macclesfield FC, after Macclesfield Town were expelled from the National League in September 2020."

"Can the duo rebuild the club at the heart of its community and start the long road back from the North West Counties League?

"Watch Robbie Savage: Making Macclesfield FC, streaming on BBC iPlayer from Friday 5 November."

The trailer can be viewed here.

Also announced today, Macclesfield FC have won the NWCFL Club of the Month for October.
