Match Report: Macclesfield Supporters FC vs Macclesfield Parish FC

Macclesfield Supporters FC played their first match this morning, after their formation in 2020.
Our first match as a reformed team ended in a 6-0 loss, but we gained experience, built into a system and started to show signs of a very strong team!
The scoreline is in no way indicative of how the match went.
For the first 20 minutes of the game we had the better share of the chances. It took quite a strange goal on the near post from their number 10 to break the deadlock.
We then fell unlucky with a few offside decisions and before we knew it we were facing a 3-0 deficit at half time.
We started the second half looking the fresher, fiercer team and a few great chances fell to Scott Barber who just couldn't quite convert in the final third.
After losing a little bit of structure in the back third, we were caught out and 3 tough to take goals followed.
All in all, we showed creativity, dynamism and a great work ethic - and the score line seems unfair. With more games, we will build a structure, build chemistry and build a formidable team.
James Hodgson, our manager, echoes these thoughts, stating;
"Fantastic work rate from everyone and I can't fault application at all. We keep working. Keep putting in at training and the results will follow"
MOM today (albeit a tough one to pick) goes to Ramnas MarÄiulionis, his work ethic was second to none and never stopped showing a goal threat.
However, everyone played their part today in the start of something special, and to pick out one player seems unfair.
We will go again! #COMEONYOUSILKS.
