A Crystal Palace fan living in Macclesfield has shared her thoughts on the 'surreal' FA Cup draw.

The Silkmen were handed a dream tie in the third round of the historic cup competition, with the current holders Crystal Palace set to descend on Moss Rose.

Jenny Bailey, a Crystal Palace fan who lives near Victoria Park in Macclesfield, really couldn't have asked for a better draw.

The 33-year-old said: "As a Palace fan living in Macclesfield this is surreal!

"I'm extremely excited to have the mighty Palace come to Macclesfield, I think it will be great for all.

"The Palace fans are known for the atmosphere they create at games and I'm sure it will be no different for this draw.

"I know Macclesfield will bring their all and give us a good game on the day."

Jenny started supporting the Eagles when she was about 10 years old.

Her dad, Barry, was born in Thornton Heath and has supported Palace his entire life.

In 2004, Barry took Jenny to one of her first live football matches, the First Division play-off final against West Ham at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Through her teens, Jenny was a season ticket holder, with her family travelling from Stockport to Selhurst Park every other weekend.

She later moved down to London for work but returned north three years ago to be closer to family.

"I moved to Macclesfield for the great vibe, the stunning views and brilliant transport links to both Manchester and London," she said.

Tickets for the fixture, which takes place on the weekend of January 10 and 11, are expected to be hard to come by.

If she can, Jenny is hoping to take her daughter, Saphira, to her first-ever match.

She said: "I will be trying to get a ticket for the game and if possible, taking my 18-month-old daughter to her first Crystal Palace game!

"How fantastic it would be for her first game to be her home team against her family team."
