Macclesfield FC launch fundraiser to help bring joy to children spending Christmas in hospital

The Silkmen are helping to spread Christmas cheer on Macclesfield District General Hospital's children's ward.
Macclesfield FC Community Sports Trust have launched their annual festive fundraiser, which aims to bring joy to youngsters spending the holidays in hospital.
Funds raised will be used to purchase gifts, with players from the club helping to deliver the presents themselves.
Lee Folkard, head of Macclesfield FC Community Sports Trust said: "The Community Trust is delighted to be partnering with Macclesfield Hospital yet again for our Christmas present appeal.
"This is our fourth year supporting the children's ward, with last year raising over £400 for us to spend of gifts for those children unfortunately in hospital over Christmas.
"We would love to hit the £500 mark this year, which would be an amazing achievement and a testament to not only the club's fans, but our amazing community across Macclesfield and Cheshire East.''
In addition to the fundraising initiative, Macclesfield FC and the Community Sports Trust have consistently brought festive cheer to the ward in recent with their annual Christmas visits, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, dropping off gifts to young patients.
Lily Preston, fundraising and events manager at East Cheshire NHS Charity added: "We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from Macclesfield FC Community Sports Trust.
"Their fundraising efforts and annual visits bring so much joy to the children on the ward and we can't thank them enough for their dedication and generosity."
