Macclesfield FC have discovered who they will face next in the FA Cup.

The Silkmen will welcome the Premier League's Crystal Palace to Moss Rose in the third round of the historic competition.

It comes after John Rooney's side secured a 3-1 extra time win away at Slough Town on Sunday, December 7.

A penalty from Danny Elliott put the visitors ahead before Slough equalised through their own penalty with just minutes remaining of regulation time.

However, a stunning strike from James Edmondson restored Macclesfield's lead before Regan Griffiths sealed the win with just seconds left to play.

With that, Macclesfield secured their place in Monday night's FA Cup third round draw, at which point the giants of the Premier League and EFL Championship enter the fray.

And Silkmen supporters couldn't have asked for much more, being drawn to the reigning champions, Crystal Palace.

The fixture is due to be played over the weekend of January 10 and 11.
