Football club searching for new chair after founder steps down
A football club is searching for a new leader.
Bollington Town have opened up applications for a new chairperson.
It comes after club founder Josh Brown decided to step down from the role to focus on his career.
Announcing his decision, Josh said: "I've never been someone to just go through the motions, so I believe now is the right time for me to step away from the club and allow fresh energy to carry the club forward.
"I need to give my full focus elsewhere.
"I'm so proud of what we've achieved together – the trophies, friendships, the club events, trips away and the general unrivalled growth of our club."
He continued: "Today, Bollington Town is stronger than ever.
"We have an incredible committee, coaches, a home which will provide opportunity for our next goals, and a young development team on the upwards trajectory.
"The future is undeniably bright, and I couldn't be prouder of what we've built.
"I'll always be here for the club and wish it nothing but the best.
"Thank you to everyone for everything they did for me and the club during my time in charge."
Bollington Town have now started searching for his replacement.
Jake Eastham, president of the club, said: "The club is now actively looking for a new chairman.
"Someone with drive, passion and a clear vision for the future of the club.
"We are open to applications from any background and welcome any interest."
Jake added: "Josh had been instrumental to the club's success, driving the club from the Altrincham league, to where we are today with two teams competing for the Crewe and District League and the Cheshire League Division 1.
"A notable highlight being winning the Altrincham and District cup against Altrincham FC reserves, a special night for all involved.
"Everyone at Bollington Town would like to pass on their thanks to Josh and his work."
Following his departure, Josh has launched his own recruitment company, Two Birds One Stone.
