Hundreds of cyclists are set to descend on Bollington.

Bolly Skyline Enduro gets underway today, August 8.

Running throughout the weekend, the event will feature live music, family entertainment and, of course, mountain bike racing.

A post on the event's Facebook page read: "Over 850 riders will be racing their bikes around Bollington.

"There is spectating, food, drink and live music."

Cannondale enduro rider and Poynton-based Josh Bryceland started the event last year, creating a competition for pro riders and amateurs alike.

The Enduro consists of eight stages of timed descents.

The person with the shortest time for all eight stages combined is crowned the winner.

Meanwhile, crowds will be treated to live music on both Friday and Saturday evening, featuring local artists such as The Select Committee, The Altar Egos, Monkey Harris and DJ Loose.

There is also a kids' corner, with toys, arts, crafts and games.

Tickets can be purchased for the day or the whole weekend at the door.
