A cricket club has rung the changes ahead of the new season.

Macclesfield Cricket Club officially opens their newly renovated clubhouse this weekend.

This ambitious transformation marks a major milestone in the club's journey as they strive to create a welcoming and modern space for players, members and the wider community

Charlotte Jennings, committee member and project lead, said: "It's been a huge team effort and I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved.

"The transformation is not just about improving the space – It's about futureproofing the club for the next generation.

"We're hugely grateful to everyone who supported the project, and we can't wait to welcome the community into our fantastic new space.

"We now have a clubhouse that matches our ambition on the field."

Following on from the successful refurbishment of the kitchen, toilets, and building exterior last year, the latest phase focused on a complete internal strip-out and redesign of the main clubhouse space.

A significant structural project, the interior has been opened up with a vaulted ceiling, creating a light, spacious, and contemporary environment for all who visit.

Meanwhile, a grant from Cheshire East Council's Improved Greener Communities Facilities Fund enabled the installation of solar panels by Wow Energy to enhance the club's commitment to sustainability

Additional funding came via a loan from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), alongside an impressive £6,800 raised by members and supporters through a Crowdfunder campaign.

The club also received in-kind donations from Amtico, who supplied premium LVT flooring, and Bollington Beer Supplies, who helped to organise the setup of the new bar.

Longstanding club sponsors Spring & Co and Kieran Hibbs Architecture donated their time and expertise to the project, with Macclesfield Cricket Club paying a special thanks to Belfield and Taylor for helping to bring their vision to life.

The clubhouse will officially open this Saturday, April 12.
