Is your little one feeling inspired from the Euros?

Do they want to get involved in football for the academic year?

A grassroots football side in Macclesfield is seeking new players for the forthcoming season.

Hurdsfield Phoenix Phantoms Under 11s, part of the Hursdfield Phoenix FC umbrella, has reached out to Macclesfield Nub News to spread the message of helping their recruitment drive for the upcoming season.

"We are moving to a larger format next season of 9-a-side," explained Macclesfield resident and dad Rob Woods, of Hurdsfield Phoenix Phantoms FC.

"So we're looking for new players to join our existing group.

The Phantoms are just one of Hurdsfield Phoenix's teams, which span throughout childhood.

Players for the Phantoms fit into the Under 11 category.

If you know a youngster who could join, contact details can be found above this image.

The Phantoms play on Saturday's in the Mid-Cheshire Youth Football League and are currently in the end of season break. However, the hard work doesn't stop for the Phantoms and they will be training hard throughout the summer.

"When the season starts up again in September, and we move to 9-a-side, we need a bigger squad," added Rob.

"So the summer is the perfect time to recruit new players, giving them a chance to work with our passionate and supportive coaching team, and get to know this fantastic group of players.

"Ideally, we need around 12-13 players for the season, so we have subs and can also still put in a team when players are unavailable for games due to holidays and other commitments."

Hurdsfield Phoenix as a whole, is one of the smaller grassroots clubs in Macclesfield, but is hoping to be bolstered with more players for the 2024-25 season.

The Club has a whole celebrated their fifth anniversary last year.

"We rely on the generosity of sponsors, parents and volunteers to run and fund the club," explained voluntary coach Rob.

"We have a fantastic group of players, with great team spirit and a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere - this is why my son originally joined the team and why I ultimately volunteered as a coach."

"We train on Thursday's at Hurdsfield Primary School [on Hulley Road].

"Thank you to the community for their continued support."
