Six Macclesfield youth footie teams amongst 219 competitors at Tytherington football festival

What could be Cheshire's biggest football festival took place at the weekend.

Tytherington Juniors Football Club, of the Rugby Drive Playing Fields, hosted their annual Tythy Fives Festival on Saturday June 24.

The event welcomed 219 teams, over 1700 grassroots players, over 150 volunteers, hundreds of meals, across 20 pitches.

"What a day for Macclesfield grassroots football", said Club Secretary coach Matt O'Brien.

"Putting on an event of this magnitude, there will always be hiccups and it's impossible to please all but sure everyone can agree that the smiles way outweighed any sighs. Just amazing to see."

As well as a whole host of teams from across the shires and north west, Macclesfield youth footie teams that took part alongside Tytherington Juniors were Macclesfield FC, Hurdsfield Phoenix, Park Royal, Bollington United, Macc Juniors

The 36-year-old club, are always looking for new players and volunteers.
