Monday 8 June
SciBar is science in a bar - an invited speaker gives a talk on a scientific topic while people enjoy a drink or meal, with a Q&A afterwards. Bollington SciBar takes place at the Cock and Pheasant Inn in Bollington.
June's SciBar is about the application of "omics" technologies (proteomics, metabolomics, microbiomics and epigenomics) to address two crucial questions in forensic science: determining the time since death and estimating the age-at-death of a victim. These techniques can be used even when only skeletal remains are left.
The speaker, Noemi Procopio, is Professor of Forensic Sciences at the University of Lancashire and the principal investigator of the "Forens-OMICS" team.
All welcome, no charge! Talk begins 6.30pm prompt – arrive early to be sure of a seat.
All feedback on the night very welcome.
