Macclesfield Town Council turns 10 this Saturday, May 17.

Expect all the classic birthday party elements, including cake, crafts, games and a disco.

Communications officer Abi Sherratt said: "A lot of people get us mixed up with Cheshire East Council and blame us for potholes or parking charges or the lack of a shoe shop.

"We want to take this opportunity to show the people of the town what we have accomplished over the last 10 years.

"The hundreds of thousands invested into local parks and play areas on estates around the town, the public toilets, collaborative working to help bring outside seating to Upper Market Place, our award-winning Rangers and the floral projects around the town, the help we give to local charities and groups and how the impact of that ripples out across the town.

"It will be a fun day, mixed with history, talks and more."
