Party planned as Macclesfield Town Council turns 10-years-old

Macclesfield Town Council turns 10 next month.
To celebrate, the council are inviting Maxonians to help them celebrate.
Expect all the classic birthday party elements, including cake, crafts, games and a disco.
But it will also be a chance for the council to showcase everything councillors, staff and volunteers have achieved in Macclesfield since 2015.
Communications officer Abi Sherratt said: "A lot of people get us mixed up with Cheshire East Council and blame us for potholes or parking charges or the lack of a shoe shop.
"We want to take this opportunity to show the people of the town what we have accomplished over the last 10 years.
"The hundreds of thousands invested into local parks and play areas on estates around the town, the public toilets, collaborative working to help bring outside seating to Upper Market Place, our award-winning Rangers and the floral projects around the town, the help we give to local charities and groups and how the impact of that ripples out across the town.
"It will be a fun day, mixed with history, talks and more."

Macclesfield Town Council was created following a Local Governance Review carried out by Cheshire East Council.
It officially adopted town council status on May 5, 2015, allowing it to appoint its chairman as Mayor of Macclesfield.
The birthday celebrations will be held from 12pm to 3pm at the Town Hall on Saturday, May 17 – the same day as the Macclesfield Bikeathon.
