Join us for a one-hour introductory workshop to increase your confidence in using a sewing machine.
Suitable for: adults or young people age 8 and above. Under 18s accompanied by an adult please.
Accompanying adult free. One ticket = one set of materials
This doesn't require any previous experience.
What you'll learn & make: Learn the basic functions of a sewing machine, become confident in how to use the machine to create a drawstring bag. Learn basic techniques such as creating hems, seams and edging that are ideal skills to transfer to everyday sewing jobs. You can also create a stitch sampler.
We supply everything you need. Just bring your enthusiasm!
Tea, coffee and cake will be available and donations towards them are always very welcome.
While you're taking part you'll be able to watch the monthly Repair Cafe happening around you, and see the repairs our volunteers can do, so you can help spread the word about 'repair, not throw away'
