Each week, we also highlight a magnificent Macclesfield job in greater detail through our Job of the Week article.

This week, we head one of Macclesfield's most fun businesses.

Cheshire Balloons on Market Place, are after a new Retail Assistant.

They require three-days a week, 24 hours in total. It would be a perfect job for a stay-at-home parent after a bit of part-time work.

No previous retail experience is needed as training will be provided.

However, applicants must be able to drive and be over 25. This is as the vehicle insurance for Cheshire Balloons was only available for over 25s, and operating the van for deliveries is a crucial aspect of the role.

The successful Macc applicant will also be on the tills and presenting the store ran by Amanda Messaoudi.

Amanda had this to say about the vacancy for her business, which employs four.

"At Cheshire Balloons, you never have a chance to be bored because there is always something to do," she said.

"We get so many nice customers. Everybody is coming in to celebrate, we do balloons from birth to death.

"You have so much diversity in what you do, and you actually get to see what the balloons will look like in venues, to bring joy to people.

"We work as a team, and all get on. We have two members above 25 and two below. And Alex, our most recent hire is the first time we've ever had a man working here, apart from my son.

"We're a unique business. We know you can get balloons from cardshops, but the stuff we do is totally different.

"We use better quality balloons, and ours will last longer because it is 100% helium. We do much more elaborate stuff, which you can also see on our Instagram.

"We were very lucky that we have a lot of customers and that when everywhere else was shut during lockdown, we were still open because we can deliver to private celebrations in people's homes."

The vacancy, which seeks an immediate start, needs you to be free for the following dates:

Thursday 9am-5pm

Friday 9am-5pm

Saturday 9am-5pm

The pay is a normal working salary, which will increase with time at the business.

There is the possibility of more vacancies opening up in the near future, so please do not hesitate to register your interest.

CV's should be emailed to [email protected].

The Macclesfield balloon shop can be contacted via 01625 437185, for further enquiries about the role. Trial shifts can be offered.
