Macclesfield: Every Thursday, we compile the four not-to-be-missed events in our town.

The events are taken from our Macclesfield What's On section.

It is there where you can advertise your upcoming Macclesfield event for FREE, 365 days a year.

Promote your Macclesfield event by clicking the black 'Nub it' button on this link.

You can also have your event featured in this very article, which is one of our most read stories of the week.

Without further ado, here's what you could get up to in Macc this weekend...

  1. Memory Miles

At Adlington Hall this weekend, a special fundraising event will take place for Macclesfield good cause East Cheshire Hospice.

Hundreds will be walking the grounds of the 15th century hall in memory of a loved one .

Online registrations are shut, however, you can still turn up and register on the day. You just have to make a cash donation.

You can find more about the charity event for the Millbank Drive life-limiting care centre here.

  1. Charity Swim

A long-tradition pre-COVID, the Rotary Club of Macclesfield Castle's Swimathon is back for another year.

The team swims in relay and everyone swims as many laps as they can for 45 minutes. The event is not a race, and is done in the spirit of fundraising.

Half of the sponsorship money raised goes directly to East Cheshire Eye Society and half goes to the Rotary Club of Macclesfield Castle to support local charities and community groups.

Macclesfield: To swim or to sponsor the ECES Swimathon Team, please phone Helen on 01625 422602.

  1. Mural Unveiling

Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis - who was a musician and civil servant from Macclesfield - will have his mural unveiled this weekend.

Completed by north west street artist Akse, the artwork will have a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by one of Curtis' former bandmates.

Peter Hook, who is from Salford, will come to Macclesfield at 1pm for this once-in-a-lifetime event.

Macclesfield Nub News will be at the event, before travelling to Crewe for the Macclesfield FC vs Congleton match.
