There is a new event to add to the calendar, in the run up to Christmas.

The inaugural Bollington Bazaar will be held at the end of November, as a way to get your presents early, and support local businesses.

The event is organised by Vikki Wray, who co-owns an independent business and giftmakers herself, being Bollington Printshop.

"We have decided this year to host a Bollington Bazaar," she said.

"It is on November 30, from 2pm to 6pm, at the Bollington Arts Centre.

"Despite Christmas being a very busy time of year for us, we thought we would organise a free-to-enter event for the community.

"Initially, it is being offered to our customers to have a stall.

"I want to to be like a little Christmas afternoon of shopping.

"Hopefully a bit of entertainment, getting into the spirit of Christmas shopping, keeping it as local as possible.

"I chose the Arts Centre as I wanted to keep it as local as possible, and wanted an indoor location so we can offer people no matter what, everything we want to offer on a day.

"The total amount of stalls will be 19 inside, with potential for stalls outside as well.

"There will be space for a bar as well."

"You never know, Santa might make an appearance," added Vikki.

"We are hoping to get people into the Christmas spirit early. Shop local, and enjoy local.

"Matt [Wray, Vikki's business and life partner] is Mr Christmas. We love this time of year."

It has been quite an emotionally charged year for Bollington, with the town's household waste recycling centre closing, and flirtation with a free carpark turning into a paid one and cuts to the town's library.

So to champion the high street, and provide an extra event of festive cheer, the Bollington Bazaar is here.

Bollington Printshop is at its busiest this time of year, printing cards and posters to promote local businesses during the festive season. As a result, they have a large network of small businesses that support them. So taking that one step further to host a market, is a no-brainer.

November will be a month of celebration for Bollington Printshop, as it is the birthday month of the business, as well as this new event.

The launch of the Bollington Bazaar is the latest initiative Bollington Printshop has to offer for the community.

Bollington has been at the brunt of council cuts this year, and there has been less markets held in Bollington than previous years. But a new festive event hopes to support the local economy and spread festive cheer. (Image - Macclesfield Nub News)

Earlier this year, Bollington Printshop has fundraised £1200 that was shared between 12 charities, from Vikki taking on the Deadly Dozen fitness challenge. She enjoyed it so much, she is doing it again next month. Her participation in the Deadly Dozen, will also spread the good word about the upcoming Bollington Bazaar.

So whether you run a food stall, make jewellery, candles, soap, or anything inbetween, why not get in touch and sign-up to another market this year?

The deadline to sign up for the Bollington Bazaar is the end of Monday September 30. Once again, you can do so on this link.
