New garden opens at award-winning Macclesfield dementia care village
What is ubiquitous in the human condition, is that flowers and nature has a positive impact on our mental health and wellbeing.
And a dementia care village, also open to the community, has a brand new garden you can enjoy.
Belong Macclesfield, of Kennedy Avenue, Upton Priory, opened a new garden this week.
The new garden, funded by a late former resident, saw a launch party for residents and families only.
And now, the new greenspace is open for everyone.
The public can pop in for a brew and request a tour.
If you do, not forget to stop off at the Belong Bistro, located just a few steps away from the garden, to try their new, affordable breakfast and lunch menu.
Belong Macclesfield, a sponsor of Macclesfield Nub News said: "Our new garden is now completed and looking wonderful."
"We celebrated in style at our official garden opening party, with lively music from the Golden Age Songbird.
"The garden was funded by former resident, Beryl Casswell and will be enjoyed by residents for many years to come. Deepest thanks to a lovely and generous lady.
"It's been designed by Urban Green and contracted to Landscape Engineering Ltd. We would also like to give a special thanks to them."
The care village already holds gardening activities for dementia patients, and can hold more now with this new-and-improved garden.
Belong Macclesfield has operated in the town since 2007.
