Tim Roca has been elected as Macclesfield's MP.

The Labour candidate secured 24,672 votes, or 46.73% of those who voted for any party.

But what do we know about Tim so far?

Tim Roca previously ran for parliament in 2015, but was not elected in Macclesfield.

He has worked in higher education since he left higher education, and is employed at the University of Westminster.

Tim is also an active Westminster City Councillor, however, when quizzed by Nub News on whether he will be resigning, Tim said after his election victory "That will be something that will be imminent."

When pressed for 'How imminent?' He said "I have got to discuss it."

He went to school in Poynton, and disclosed a residential address in Tytherington on his electoral forms.

He achieved nine out of nine A*-C grades at GCSE, for which he graduated from in 2005.

He is a patron for APARU, the Association of Argentine professionals in the United Kingdom, and is a member of UNISON.

He was Deputy Leader of Westminster City Council until January 2024, weeks after he was selected as an MP for Macclesfield.

On Friday, shortly after his interview with Nub News, Tim tweeted: "It's the privilege of my life to be elected as Member of Parliament for Macclesfield."

"I'm so grateful to everyone who put their trust in me. I promise to work my socks off for all our communities. Can't wait to get started!"
