Arrests have been made following burglary at a plant nursery near Macclesfield.

Police were called to a business on Farm Lane in Lower Withington just after 10pm on Saturday, April 18, following reports of intruders at the property.

Police, assisted by dog patrols, the force drone and armed response officers flooded the area and detained a 62-year-old man on suspicion of burglary.

The suspect had tried to flee with a quantity of cash and other items taken from an office on the site.

Officers continued searching the area and spotted a car parked on Bomish Lane which linked to the suspect.

The occupant, a 50-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle.

Both suspects were released on police bail.
