Art collective bring new exhibition to Macclesfield's Silk Museum

A new exhibition is coming to the Silk Museum.
A Small Space collective will take over the former Macclesfield School of Art for seven weeks from Saturday (July 5).
It is an ongoing exhibition concept that seeks out unique and compelling locations, challenging the conventions of the traditional 'white cube' gallery.
Co-curator Hannah Wooll said: "It's been a year since A Small Space collective has exhibited so we're absolutely delighted to share with you that our next exhibition is on its way, bringing the collective together once more to exhibit at the Silk Museum in Macclesfield.
"We will also be introducing two new members, Emma Jackson and Emmer Winder, and will be joined by guest artist Susan Gunn who lives in the area and is a member of Mill Artists Collective based in Macclesfield.
"This exhibition gives the group an opportunity to show larger scale pieces, with some exhibiting works informed and inspired by the Silk Museum's collection and Macclesfield itself."

A Small Space have previously exhibited in London, Manchester, Stockport and even Bali.
They will call the Silk Museum home until Saturday, August 23.
Exhibiting artists include Jen Orpin, Rachael Addis, Margaret Cahill, Julie Cassels, Sarah Feinmann, Nan Collantine, Peter Davis, Ruth Fildes, Laura Nathan, Sophie Nixon, Sam Owen Hull, Laura Pedley, Sandra Robinson, Michelle Taube, Stefanie Trow, and Jude Wainwright.
Many of the artists featured have created work inspired by the museum's collection and Macclesfield, such as the painting above of the Silk Road bridge by Jen Orpin.
