Barclays are to close on Market Place this year.

The bank will shut their doors on April 14 2023.

They cited reasons such as just 11 customers using the store that didn't use online banking, and also revealed that 92% of Macclesfield customers had online banking.

The number of jobs affected by the impending closure and whether they will be offered new roles is unclear. Barclays have been contacted for comment.

It is located on 10 Market Pl, Macclesfield SK10 1HA.

2022 saw both Virgin Money and RBS shut their banks in Macclesfield town centre.

The nearest open Barclays to Macclesfield is in Stockport or Newcastle-under-Lyme.
