A new café has opened in Macclesfield town centre.

Dukes Deli is the first retail unit located to the left of the Mill Street entrance of Dukes Court.

The new lunchspot, opposite Dukebox, will serve hot drinks and hot food for an affordable price.

With meal deals from £6 (including drink) and breakfast options from £3.50, the new eatery will bring more footfall to Duke's Court in the daytime. (The street is already well known for a bustling nightlife scene).

"We wanted to open something that was affordable, because there aren't many places that are these days, said entrepreneur Kyle Frost.

Kyle has opened the business in partnership with his friend Helena Dawson.

The pair have known each other since they were teenagers.

An additional staff member will help out at the new business.

"We look forward to welcoming you to Dukes," said Helena.

"We are open six days a week.

"Our opening hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8-4pm.

"At the weekends, we will be open Saturday 9-4pm and Sunday 10-4pm.

"Treacle Sunday will be open slightly earlier from 9-4pm."

Menu items include speciality sandwiches like Mexican chicken with chilli jam plus Jalapeños, crispy chicken, and a fish finger butty for a fiver.

All the sausage rolls and meat are from Park Green butcher Spearings, and their generously-portioned cakes are freshly made on-site.

There are options for veggies, vegans and there will be gluten free offerings.

And they are one of the few places in town that serve oatcakes.

Dukes will be available for catering an event hire. Just message on Facebook.

Dukes is located where Courtyard Kitchen & Bites used to be.
