The Wincle Fete kicks off at 2pm on Saturday.

A village a few miles from Macclesfield has a big weekend ahead of it, with fun for everyone and anyone.

The parish of Wincle has a packed events calendar over the next few days.

It all kicks off tonight, as Wincle Brewery hold an open tap night, with street food and beer brewed-right on site.

The Wincle Brewery shop will also be open, where you can stock up on beers for the Euros.

Just up the road, The Ship Inn pub will celebrate one month since their new carpark was put in.

And then the main event comes on Saturday, as the Wincle Fete will take place.

This community-unifying event will take place this year at Tolls Bridge Farm in Wincle.

Macclesfield: Have you ever been to Wincle Fete?

There is so much to do at this year's event, with fun for all ages.

From animals to see from calves, guinea pigs, goats, sheep and chicks.

There are also activities like the Dog Show, and sheep shearing.

And what would a fete be without some tradition? As traditional country dancing a brass ensemble will be performing.

They are not the only musicians as the Basin Street Jazz & Blues will be performing too.

Elsewhere there are vintage vehicles, tractors young and old, plus Buxton Mountain Rescue Team, and Cheshire Constabulary Rural Crime Team will have a presence.

Children's games, a bouncy castle and the grand raffle are also there.

Don't forget to buy your tickets for the grand draw. Just a quid each and lots of valuable prizes to be won!

It is not too late to sign up for the trout run

On the nourishment side, there are homemade cakes, scones and savouries in the tea tent.

Wincle Brewery will be providing the beer tent. Pimms, soft drinks, real dairy ice cream and BBQ also available too.

Other activities include; bottle stall, james & chutneys, homemade cakes, accessories, homegrown plants, plate smashing, coconut shy, tombola, welly wangling, toy stall, football, and a strength machine.

And it isn't too late to take place in the Infamous Wincle Fete Trout Run. (If you're young that is).

The main race – with a trout for every runner - is absolutely full as usual, but spaces are still open in the junior race – it's a three km fell race involving wading through the River Dane (conditions permitting) and a great introduction to the sport. To take part you need to be between ages 11 and 16 by 31 DECEMBER 2024. Entries on the day cost £5 or you can reserve your place in advance at BookitZone (https://bookitzone.com/rob_gittins/tgjFFX).

Member of the community and Wincle Brewery owner Giles Meadows said: "This year it will be held in front of the Brewery which is fantastic for us as it makes setting up the beer tent quite easier!"

"There are a lot of traditions, Wincle School and WI are heavily involved. It is a great coming together of the community.

"It is hard work on the day, because we are a small community, but everyone is involved in making it happen.

"But at the end of the day it is all worth it. It is a cracking event, beautiful location, with loads to do and see.

"Every third year, it is held at Tolls Farm."

"It is important for us to help out in the event as reinforces our ties with the community. All the profit from the beer tent goes into the fund of the fete, so it is a big fundraising element of the Fete, so it is important for us to give something back."

The Fete opens at 13.30 but runners can register from 13.00. Look forward to welcoming all runners, young and old on Saturday. Bring family and friends to watch and to enjoy the fete. Please note everything is cash only. £2 to enter the fete (12 and under free).
