An elderly biker was airlifted to hospital after a 'serious' crash.

Cheshire Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and video footage following a crash on the A537 Buxton New Road near the Cat and Fiddle.

Officers arrived at 1.15pm on Thursday, April 10, and found a beige camper van and a blue Suzuki motorcycle had been involved in the collision.

The rider of the bike, a 70-year-old man, sustained 'serious' injuries and was taken to the Royal Manchester Hospital by air ambulance.

Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Meanwhile, the occupants of the camper van, a 60-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman, were uninjured.

Today, Friday, April 11, police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashcam which may aid the investigation to come forward.

Anyone with information or video footage is asked to visit www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us or call 101, quoting IML2066728.
