Body found in search for Macclesfield man missing since April

Police trying to locate a man from Macclesfield have sadly found a body.

Macclesfield man Nigel Redshaw (55) was last seen in Lancaster on Monday, April 15.

Friends last heard from by phone on Thursday, April 18.

Unfortunately, Cumbria Police have released the following statement after locating a body near Middle Barrow Quarry, Silverdale.

In a statement, Cumbria Constabulary said: "Police searching for a missing man from Cheshire have found a man's body."

"The body was found shortly before 1.30pm on Wednesday, June 5, near to Middle Barrow Quarry, Silverdale, after a call from a member of the public.

"The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

"The family of Nigel Redshaw, reported missing in April, have been informed."

Known to friends as Beaker, tributes have been pouring in on social media.
