A Macclesfield coffee shop have amped up their brownie game, ahead of their two-year anniversary.

Yas Bean, a grab-and-go cake, coffee and sandwich spot in east Macclesfield were already known for their modern and colourful branding.

However, sleek rebrand has culminated with a new, easier to post brownie box, which can be send couriered next day delivery anywhere in the UK.

Partners in both business and in life, Mika Johnson and Dan Hardman co-founded Yas Bean after their hospitality jobs were impacted by the pandemic.

They quickly graduated from a food truck to their current premises on Buxton Road in Summer 2021.

Macclesfield Nub News went down to Yas Bean, of 219 Buxton Road, to find out everything new with the small business.

"We've come a long way, right at the beginning the coffee came in white cups and the brownies in blank brown cardboard boxes," said Dan.

"I bake the brownies. The actual product has changed a lot. It is the same recipe, but I've added decoration to the top of the brownies as I wanted them to look super premium.

The brownie boxes cost £16, and can be purchased in-store, online, or sent as a gift. (Image - Yas Bean

"For example I've added a chocolate ganache to our triple chocolate brownie and vegan buttercream to our raspberry brownie.

"The brownies are also bigger than they were before. We've also introduced new brownies like a blueberry cheesecake one.

"As soon as we saw the new design for the boxes, we fell in love with it. And the response to the boxes has been incredible."

The new box has a divider to keep all the brownies in place, and is the same iconic shade of pink that Yas Bean has grown their brand on.

You can customise your own box. Other brownies to choose from include chocolate crunch, along with mint and pistachio.

"The new boxes gives that quality the brand deserves, said Mika.

"We think Yas Bean deserves to be seen by people all over. The box is now premium to compliment the taste and appearance of the brownies.

"We think the brownie boxes can really show what Macc has to offer, and would make a great gift for someone to show them what our town is all about.

Elsewhere, to help combat the summer heat, Yas Bean have introduced cool new drinks. These include coffee brewed for 24 hours in cold water, and topped with a vanilla-infused cream, inspired by US coffee culture.

"As a brand, we are always looking for new and exciting ideas, full of quality and flavour," added Mika.

"I'm always looking to LA, Hawaii and Korea for inspiration. Their coffee culture is always pushing the envelope more than what Brits do over here.

"Having cream instead of milk is huge over there, and I don't know many places around here that do it. And it is delicious."

To make way for the new futuristic, trendy brews, they have had to take away frappes from their menu. But that doesn't mean you aren't spoilt for choice.

Other novel cold drinks include grape soda and raspberry soda. Plus all your Italian coffee favourites are here.

And their food side of things can cater for specific dietary requirements like vegans and coeliacs.

"We'll announce plans of how we are going to celebrate our second anniversary for the shop and for Macclesfield Pride soon," concluded Mika.
