Council reveals bumper lineup of events and activities taking place at Tegg's Nose Country Park in 2025

Cheshire East Council's Ranger Service has unveiled a bumper lineup of activities taking place in 2025.

Around 100 events are planned, with everything from wildlife walks and kids clubs to birdwatching and poetry workshops.

Best of all, you don't have to travel far, with plenty of activities taking place at Tegg's Nose Country Park.

Here's a brief overview of what's coming up over the next three months.

Love Trail at - On now until Sunday, February 23

Embark on a heart hunting mission in the park! Crack the code that links the names of these 10 hidden heart characters and bag yourself a small sweet surprise. Are you up for the challenge?

Scrub Clearance and Footpath Work - Thursday, February 27

A joint event with colleagues from the Bollin Valley Partnership and staff and volunteers from the Mersey Rivers Trust. Help the Rangers to reduce scrub within the heathland and also build a flight of steps on a popular Public Right of Way through the park.

Outdoor Fitness - Sunday, March 9

A 2-hour outdoor fitness session for those wanting something a bit different as part of their fitness regime! The session will involve a warmup and cool down with running, steps, hill sprints along with a variety of exercises!

Juice and Joy: a spring poetry workshop - Sunday, March 16

Acclaimed poet Jo Bell (author of 52 and co-author of How to Be a Poet) leads a seasonal writing session in the gallery at Tegg's Nose Country Park, on the western edge of the Peak District.

All about Owls Workshop - Wednesday, March 26 & Thursday, March 27

This workshop will cover identification tips on UK owl species as well as their biology, ecology and conservation.

Birdwatching – Understanding Spring Birds with Nature Stuff - Tuesday, April 1

Suitable for beginners, improvers and those wanting to learn more about bird identification, behaviour and conservation.

Easter Hunt - Saturday, April 5 to Sunday, April 27

Ranger Martin's Easter Eggs have been stolen! Can you help him find the wildlife that has taken them and collect their names? 

Stargazing Evening - Saturday, April 5

If you've ever looked up at the starry night sky and been enthralled by what you've seen then join Macclesfield Astronomical Society for an evening of astronomy. There will be talks suitable for all levels of interest, including photos of the sky and astronomical objects, with opportunity to ask questions and (if the weather is clear) to observe the sky with MaccAstro's guidance and to see celestial objects through their telescopes.

Moorland Adventure Easter Kids Activity Club - Tuesday, April 8 to Thursday, April 10 and Tuesday, April 15 to Thursday, April 17

A great way to experience some varied exciting activities in the countryside with local experts Moorland Adventure! Based at Tegg's Nose Country Park, each day focuses on different activities, and it will give you a taste of adventure!

Plein Air Painting Workshop: Composition - Thursday, April 24

Join us for fun Plein Air painting workshops in 2025 at Tegg's Nose Country Park. In each workshop, experienced professional painters, Christopher Clements and Kieran Ingram, will help you capture a different aspect of landscape painting.

Ramble with the Rangers – Saturday, April 26

Join East Cheshire Ramblers and the Rangers for a circular guided walk of approximately 9.8km (6 miles), from Tegg's Nose Country Park, while looking out for signs of wildlife and enjoying the landscape.

Plein Air Painting Workshop: Sky, Clouds and Aerial Perspective Workshop - Thursday, May 22

Join us for fun Plein Air painting workshops in 2025 at Tegg's Nose Country Park. In each workshop, experienced professional painters, Christopher Clements and Kieran Ingram, will help you capture a different aspect of landscape painting.

Tegg's Nose Rocks – Geology Walk - Sunday, May 25

Join Geologist Kate Riddington and Tegg's Nose Country Park Ranger Martin James to explore the geological history of the park and wider Cheshire Plain.

Moorland Adventure May Half-Term Kids Activity Club - Monday, May 26 to Friday, May 30

A great way to experience some varied exciting activities in the countryside with local experts Moorland Adventure! Based at Tegg's Nose Country Park, each day focuses on different activities and it will give you a taste of adventure
