Business as usual for distillery as landmark pub goes up for sale

A local landmark is up for sale.
The iconic Cat and Fiddle has hit the market, open to offers in excess of £350,000.
Fortunately, the move is not expected to have any impact on the current tenants, Forest Distillery.
A spokesperson for Robinsons Brewery, the pub group that owns the venue, said: "The Cat and Fiddle re-opened with Forest Distillery, following a long period of closure for the pub.
"Forest Gin have used the site for operating their business from the pub since taking on the tenure and the freehold sale of the pub will go ahead with Forest Gin remaining as the building's tenants.
"We don't foresee this changing.
"The Cat and Fiddle now operates very differently to the traditional pub model but has a successful operator in place, and therefore, it's a great opportunity to acquire this landmark freehold property."

The Cat and Fiddle is being marketed by Savills as a 'freehold public house investment'.
It is described as a 'unique opportunity to acquire an iconic landmark building'.
The ground floor provides an open plan trading area with a central bar along with a kitchen, storerooms and customer WCs.
The entire upper floor is owners' accommodation, with five bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and a lounge.
Externally, the property features a beer patio, car parking for 32 vehicles and an outbuilding which is used for the distillery process.
The listing states that the entire property is currently let on 10-year internal repairing and insuring lease from December 2019.
As such, the business (Forest Distillery) will be 'unaffected' by the potential sale.
