Businesses will face off in a classic school sports day.

Macclesfield-based Synergy Recruitment are hosting a charity sports day to raise money for MyCWA.

Delydd Jones, recruitment administrator, says they were inspired to do so after hearing that the charity's domestic abuse support services were at risk.

She said: "MyCWA has supported the local community for almost 50 years, and as a local business ourselves, we felt that we had to do something to help.

"So, we made MyCWA our Charity of the Year for 2025, with plans to run several fundraising events throughout the year.

"We kicked things off with an Easter bake sale in April and thought, what better way to burn off those sweet treats than with a charity sports day?"

Delydd added: "My CWA is an incredible local charity and the work they do really resonated with us as a team.

"They support people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives and help them to rebuild safely.

"We knew we wanted to shine a light on the work MyCWA do and help to raise as much money as possible for them."

The sports day will take place at Macclesfield Rugby Club from 9.30am to 1.30pm on Thursday (July 10).

Teams will compete in classic sports day games and activities, including an egg and spoon race, bean bag toss, mini obstacle course, and sack race.

There will also be a free BBQ and a chance to win raffle prizes donated by local businesses.

"Ultimately it's all about channeling a bit of childhood nostalgia and supporting a great cause," said Delydd.

"We're really grateful to have had a brilliant response so far.

"We have a real mix of businesses from different sectors signed up including our headline sponsors, Evolve Family Law and BIP Candy & Toys UK Ltd.

"But we still have a few spaces left if others would like to join us!"

Teams of five can enter for £150 or you can enter as an individual for £30.
