Police are investigating an attack at a Macclesfield pub.

Officers have released CCTV images of a man they believe may have 'vital' information about an assault at a pub on Mill Street.

The incident is believed to have occurred at some time between 11.30pm on Saturday, February 8, and 12.30am the following day.

Fortunately, the 21-year-old female victim was uninjured.

Enquiries have been ongoing since the incident was reported in an attempt to identify the person responsible.

Today (April 10), Cheshire Police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to.

Police Constable Martin Arrundale said: "As part of our ongoing investigation, we are now urging anyone who recognises the man pictured in the CCTV images to get in touch with us.

"We would also like to appeal directly to the man in the images to make contact with us.

"You can report information to Cheshire Police via www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us or call 101, quoting 25000109098."

*UPDATE*

At 11.12am on Friday, April 11, Cheshire Police confirmed that the man had been identified and located.
