Charity shop vandalised just days ahead of reopening

A charity shop has been vandalised just days ahead of its reopening.
The Samaritans shop on Pickford Street is currently undergoing refurbishment.
Unfortunately, the project was dealt a serious blow overnight, with vandals smashing the store's front window.
Speaking on Wednesday (August 13), a spokesperson for the suicide prevention charity said: "Unfortunately, our newly refurbished shop was vandalised last night, and the window was smashed.
"Our Macclesfield Samaritan volunteers have worked so hard to get this shop open and we were so close to opening.
"It is devastating to see this happen."

The shop has been closed for the refurbishment since July 11.
To help get it back open as soon as possible, Macclesfield Samaritans are urging anyone who can lend a hand to get in touch.
The spokesperson added: "Any help to get our shop open will be much appreciated.
"Our shop is a vital part of our fundraising and keeping our branch open.

Cheshire Police have been contacted for further information.
