A guitar musician from our county is to return to Macclesfield, for the second time within a year.

James Walsh, of post-Britpop band Starsailor, has just been added to the line-up for Party in the Pews 2024.

The ex-Starsailor frontman from Warrington, will take to the stage on Sunday May 26, at Christ Church, as part of the two-day Party in the Pews music festival.

Walsh was the frontman for Starsailor, who boast ten UK Top 40 singles, and three million album sales. He is known for a silky, gorgeous singing voice.

In 2023, he released a new solo album and a single just last month.

Party in the Pews Organiser Jo Lowes said "We just had to get James back for Sunday of Party in the Pews 2024."

"He played our first gig at Cinemac Live [in September] and just blew us away.

"James Walsh has the most amazing voice we've ever had the pleasure to put on and Starsailor songs are the stuff of legend.

"From Good Souls, Alcoholic, Four to the Floor, and Poor Misguided Fool, there's just too many to mention."

Walsh's confirmation comes just days after fellow 90s stars Dodgy were confirmed to play the festival.

Other acts performing at the music festival which takes place on Saturday May 25 and Sunday May 26, include Macclesfield acts Joel Gardner and The Dopes.
