Seven grassroots clubs and sports organisations in Macclesfield have shared the spoils of £1700.

The four-figure donation comes from the Everybody Foundation, the charitable arm of Everybody Health and Leisure, who run Macclesfield Leisure Centre.

From football to netball, local youth and community sports groups have benefitted as follows:

  • Macclesfield Netball Club - £200
  • Macclesfield FC Community Sports Trust - £250
  • Tytherington Juniors FC - £250
  • Satellites Swimming Club - £250
  • Maximum Cheer Gymnastics - £250
  • Macclesfield Boys Boxing Club - £250
  • Macclesfield Harriers and Athletics Club - £250

Macclesfield Community Sports Trust, which provide all-ages football and exercise sessions from schools to carehomes, were one of seven benificiaries from the SK10, SK11 area.

In a statement sent to Macclesfield Nub News, the Everybody Foundation said: "With the cost-of-living crisis at the forefront of everyone's mind, the Everybody Foundation is proud to be helping to relieve some of the pressures within the local communities.

"The Everybody Foundation recently relaunched with a focus of giving clubs in Cheshire East the opportunity to apply for grants on behalf of young people they know will benefit and to keep them playing the sport they love."

In total, the Everybody Foundation has been able to give out £6,400 in grants to 26 different local clubs in Cheshire since the Foundation's relaunch.

Kerry Shea Director of Health & Communities at Everybody Health and Leisure said: "When we started to hear reports of local sport clubs seeing a drop-off in numbers of young people attending sessions, we knew this was where the Everybody Foundation comes in."

"Having provided multiple grants to local clubs over the last few months, we have started to see how this support has had a beneficial impact to the club and young people involved."
