Court date set for man accused of impersonating police officer to steal car in Bollington

A man accused of posing as a police officer to steal a car is set to appear in court.
Mason Crozier has been charged with a string of 22 offences following an investigation into numerous incidents of fraud across the country.
This includes seven counts of fraud by false representation, seven counts of theft of a motor vehicle, seven counts of impersonating a police officer and one count of possession of an article for use in fraud.
The charges relate to reports of fraud in Chester and Bollington in Cheshire, as well as Lancashire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, between May 11 and August 24 this year.
The incident in Bollington occurred on August 24 and allegedly saw Crozier impersonate a police officer.
He is reported to have claimed to have made a bank transfer before stealing a Volkswagen T-Roc from the South West Avenue area of the town.
Following a police appeal, Crozier, of Oak Bank Avenue in Manchester, was arrested on Monday, September 1.
The 24-year-old has been remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday 6 October.
