A fundraiser has been set up in memory of a Tytherington man who passed away last month.
As reported earlier in the month by Macclesfield Nub News, former police officer Russell Thomas (60) died after a car collision in Macclesfield.
Now, friends of the family have set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the costs of funeral expenses.
The crowdfunder page set up by Ivy Farm resident Farhat Amin reads: "It breaks my heart to be writing this and setting up this page for our beautiful friend Sara Thomas due to the loss of her beloved husband and soul mate Russell Thomas, who was taken too soon due to a tragic accident."
"Russell, was one of a kind. A man who enriched the lives of those who he encountered, a loving son, amazing husband and a wonderful Dad and Grandad.
"Sara and her amazing family have been overwhelmed by everyone's kindness, messages, cards, flowers and food parcels etc, there are only so many flowers her house can hold.
"I know there are many of you that would still like to do a little more to show your love and support. I have therefore set up this GoFundMe Page for us to offer our support and help with any expenses that may arise with the funeral arrangements or any other needs that may arise. Any support will be gratefully received. Thank you all for your kindness."
