Macclesfield Nub News was founded on principles of celebrating independent, small businesses.

So we are pleased to highlight that applications for awards which celebrate some of the best indie companies and charities in our area are now open.

The window to register for the North Cheshire Business Awards has now opened.

Each November, the winners are crowned at a lavish ceremony in the county. Macclesfield winners across various categories last year included Jodrell Bank and Macclesfield FC.

Macclesfield FC were one of last year's winners.

Before that, other local winners have been SAS Daniels, Forest Distillery and Rachel Kay from Macclesfield College.

Categories for 2023 are as follows:

1. Business of the Year (turnover over £1.5m)
2. Small Business of the Year (turnover over up to £1.5m)
3. Start-up of the Year
4. Business Person of the Year
5. Best Company to Work For
6. Team of the Year
7. Apprentice of the Year
8. Excellence in Customer Service
9. Workplace Health & Wellbeing
10. Charity of the Year
11. Carbon Reduction Award
12. Best Creative Campaign

Award organisers said in a statement: "Being part of the North Cheshire Business Awards gives you a 'money can't buy opportunity' to raise and promote your brand and to be aligned with a number of household names from our region."

"Winning (or in-fact just being nominated for) awards is a strong indicator of trustworthiness among prospective customers.
