The Macclesfield Bikeathon returns later this year.

Local charity Just Drop-In (JDI) has released early bird ticket prices for its annual fundraising event, organised by All Good Cycling.

Last year, 300 riders took part, raising £9,800 for the charity which supports 11-25-year-olds in the north of Cheshire East.

Just Drop-In's operations manager Jenny Spencer said: "The Bikeathon is one of the highlights of our fundraising calendar, and something we all look forward to every year.

"It's a super fun event, full of great energy, and it means so much to Just Drop-In to see the local community come together to support children and young people.

"Early bird tickets are available now, so we'd encourage people to sign up quickly and get involved."

This year's Macclesfield Bikeathon takes place on Saturday, May 16.

It features two main routes, 30 and 60-miles across the Cheshire Plain, and is open to riders aged 12 and above.

Children aged 12 to 15 can take part on these routes if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

There is also a family five-mile route which will head north towards Poynton, for riders ages 99 and under, with a maximum of two adults and two children per family entry.

Both of the main routes begin in Macclesfield town centre, with staggered start times between 8am and 10am. Riders will have access to a feed station, including toilets, at Great Warford Baptist Church.

Tickets for the main 30 and 60-mile routes are priced at £28. There will be beers, ice-creams, or socks to look forward to as a reward for completing one of the routes.

All proceeds from the Macclesfield Bikeathon will support Just Drop-In, who provide free support services for children and young people across the North of Cheshire East.

Until January 31, participants can enjoy 25% off tickets using code EARLYBIRD26 via the event website here.
