It is National Cinema Day this Saturday, and Macclesfield's sole cinema will be taking part once again.
Cinemac, in Macclesfield, will be offering discounted tickets for all films as part of this Saturday's nationwide celebration of going to the cinema.
Tickets will cost just £3.80, for a limited time.
Jordan Wilson is director of Cinemac Macclesfield.
"Saturday 31 August is National Cinema Day, but we are taking part for the whole week," said Jordan.
"We will be offering discounted tickets for £3.80 for showings until the end of next Thursday.
"It all starts on Friday when we will be showing Despicable Me 4 and Harold and the Purple Crayon.
"We are doing it for the whole week to try and get people to come back to the cinema."
"The discounts are just on tickets, but the Luxe seats will be at a reduced price as well, price to be confirmed.
"Despicable Me 4 will be on Saturday. Sunday through to Thursday will also see the aforementioned films, and romance film It Ends with Us."
"Come and support the cinema while you can get an absolute bargain.
"Thank you to the people of Macclesfield for their support."
Tickets normally cost £8 for a regular adult seat, and £6 for children, so massive savings can be made.
It has been a tough year for the movie industry. Following the blockbuster-packed year of 2023, with cinematic moments like Barbie and Oppenheimer, 2024 has struggled to live up to the previous year's box office boom (so far).
Despite the cessation of film crew strikes, the industry as a whole is struggling, which is why days like National Cinema Day matter even more, to highlight the joy of watching a movie in public.
So why not put down the streaming services for one day, and save yourself some pennies on a cinema ticket, whilst still supporting an independent business?

Book your tickets via the Cinemac website.
Cinemac will celebrate 20 years of business next year.
The independent cinema - which also claims to be Macclesfield's largest live entertainment venue - recently announced an Oasis tribute concert.
Also on Saturday, Cinemac will host a ska concert, for more information please click HERE.
