A female Macclesfield music artist has released their third single to local acclaim.

Macc-born Minerva Daisy's new track Euphoria follows a similar tempo and vibe to her first single Call Me The Criminal, however, a piano solo replaces the guitar interludes of her debut track.

The third single of the young Macclesfield musician has dropped with over 1,300 streams in the first few days.

It will soon eclipse Substitute, her second single which has just over 4,000 streams across platforms.

"Let's hide away under duvets and mistakes of our broken hearts", sings Minerva on her latest track.

"Let's fly away to treetop fields we used to play in when we were young," longing once again for that feeling of Euphoria.

The 20-year-old was born in Macclesfield in 2001, but she now lives in Manchester and attends the British and Irish Modern Music Institute studying Vocals.

"The track itself was inspired by some events I was going through at the time, it was written three years ago and so the meaning has changed over time," said Minerva.

"It used to be about longing for someone but now I see it as a look back at those times and a tongue in cheek realisation that I'm worth more than being ignored, unsatisfied and feeling invisible.

"The reception to the track has been incredible. I've had so many lovely messages about people loving the track and the new vibe it gives off, people have been adding to playlists from all over the place and streaming like crazy.

"I want to say thank you to everyone who has been streaming and sharing. I also want to thank James Kenyon for producing, recording and mastering the track and making it sound phenomenal.

"Also I'd like to thank my brilliant musicians, Tom Hetzel, Kay Rogerson and Al McKenzie," Minerva added.

"As well as thanking District Records for helping me to create an incredible event for the 25th July and the Lions Den for having me there."

Minerva has been a musician since the age of six, falling in love with the piano, which is indeed the first instrument we hear in Euphoria, as a testament to her first musical love.

She went from singing to songwriting at the age of ten and at age 19 released her first single Call Me The Criminal, which amassed over 10,000 streams.

There's also another gig to catch the Macc-born musician in Manchester in August.

Her last single, the intoxicating indie-pop number, Substitute has been featured on both BBC Introducing across the country and Amazing Radio. She's also been featured on multiple popular playlists on Spotify.

In her spare time, she raised money for Macmillan Cancer Support by quitting alcohol last October, and has also gained 15,000 likes on TikTok.
