Eyes turn to 2027 after another successful Macc in May music festival
By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 28th May 2026
Eyes have already turned to 2027 after another successful edition of Macclesfield in May.
The original live music festival returned on Saturday, May 23, with thousands of people descending on the town centre.
According to footfall statistics provided by Macclesfield Town Council, 14,037 visited Market Place throughout the day, up 68% on a typical Saturday.
Organiser Jo Lowes, from Choose Macc, said: "Macc in May 2026 could not have gone better, the sun was shining and the band were amazing!"
"The Boo Radleys have everyone singing along and Badly Drawn Boy closed the night with a beautiful set.
"New acts Fever Dream Kills and Naomi Kalu absolutely blew everyone away and the day started with a brilliant set from Fallibroome Academy student band - Locus."

The festival cost around £14,000 to put on, with funding provided by Macclesfield Town Council, sponsors and local business advertising.
Jo is aiming to take the event to the next level, and has launched a fundraiser to help secure its future for years to come.
She said: "Next year I definitely want to the festival to come back and to be bigger and even better, so I've launched a crowdfunder for Macc in May 2027.
"If everyone who attended gave £5 the festival would be guaranteed for the next two years.
"So if you came and had an amazing day help me and the volunteers do it all again next year!"
