Macclesfield firefighters used a water pack to extinguish a small fire which is believed to have been started deliberately in the open on Beech Lane.

One Macclesfield fire engine attended Beech Lane just after 5:15pm yesterday (30 July). The crew were detained at the scene for around 20 minutes.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate and anyone with information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 767398."
