A fundraising family music, food and drink festival will take place in Macclesfield.

Macclesfield Family Festival, will take place at Macclesfield Rugby Club on Saturday July 16.

Proceeds of sales will go to Macclesfield Millbank Drive good cause East Cheshire Hospice, and Chorley-based Derian House Children's Hospice.

The line-up sees tribute acts to 1980s and 1990s rock bands.

There is also a kids stage, which includes Disney theatre and a children's 'Macclesfield Got Talent' contest.

"One of the best things about the festival is how centred around families it is," said spokesperson Jo Lowes.

"There's fairgrounds, face painting and an entire dedicated kids stage. There's even dinosaurs to meet.

"There is a push to use local companies when it comes to stalls to try and put some money back in the local economy - especially after COVID.

"And the festival is organised by Macclesfield for Macclesfield.

"It's this huge family focus which makes it such a great event.

"There isn't a lot of big music events in Macclesfield, which is why you should support one when it comes around."

The Macclesfield Family Festival was first established in 2017, meaning this year's edition marks the five year anniversary.

It is not the fifth edition however, due to the cancelled 2020 event with COVID.

7500 people attended the first event.

The July 16 event is expected to be a sell-out, so please buy your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

Tickets cost £20.60 for an adult and £9.05 for a child.
