New business 'Urban Fox' set to open in old Macclesfield Revolution bar
The site of the former Revolution Bar in Macclesfield has applied for a new premises licence.
This is according to a new premises licence notice outside the empty Mill Street unit.
The premises licence application is for Monday to Sunday from 10am to 3:30am, hoping to be open at these times.
They hope to sell alcohol from 10:00am to 3:00am, including Sunday.
Once a cinema in the time of our parents and grandparents, the theatre which is still part of the site may be in use once more, as the premises licence includes playing films.
However, this is not confirmed as of yet.
The licence application stated: "The proposed licensable activities and their hours are the provision for regulated entertainment (to include films, live music, recorded music, performances of dance and anything of a similar description from Monday to Sunday 10:00am to 03:30am the following morning."
"Any representations by an interested party or responsible authority regarding the application must be received in writing by The Licensing Section, Cheshire East Council, Municipal Buildings, Earle Street, Crewe, CW1 2BJ, or by email to [email protected]."
The deadline to have your say is July 18 2022, and must state the grounds for objection.
The site has been vacant for three years, and has previously housed The Litten Tree, The Silkworm and Barracuda Bar.
The premises briefly was announced to go up for public auction late last year, before being taken off the market before the scheduled auction time.
It appears we now know why.
It is not the only Macclesfield empty unit with hopes to be filled in soon.
Also on Mill Street, the site of a former Macclesfield travel agent is set to be filled.
